My passion is to travel to unusual places and to seek out things which are not only beautiful and interesting, but have also been prized and held close by their previous owners and thus given the patina and "soul" of loving wear. Not everything that I sell is old - I also enjoy finding new things that are worthy of acquiring the status of the beloved - especially where they indulge the senses through extraordinary and sensual textures, scents or colours.

I have sought out the finest cashmere, silk, linen and suede, have designed clothing, accessories (bags, shoes & belts) and cushions, finely woven and textured or embellished with beads and hand embroidery. I have a limited collection of fine cashmere jerseys and pure cashmere shawls. I have collected antique silver, trade beads and gemstones and combined them in necklaces, bracelets and earrings. An interesting array of Thangka paintings by Buddhist monks from Kathmandu as well as original photographs taken in various parts of the world are displayed in "old-wood" frames. There are also some rare and unusual objects, such as much loved painted antique Tibetan cupboards and interesting Himalayan artifacts (cheese boxes, butter churns, wine containers and ceremonial objects used by Shamen). The African objects have been collected over ten years of traveling and buying in Africa and include original artifacts and functional objects such as stools, bowls and containers, day-beds/coffee tables, currency objects made of iron and copper, shields, spears, arrows and knives, hand-woven textiles, baskets as well as contemporary Nguni skin floor coverings.

Talks at My Showroom:
I regularly give informal talks to groups (book-clubs, groups of friends, etc.) at my showroom. You bring your friends (minimum of 8 and maximum of 20) and we will provide the refreshments. I talk on various subjects, e.g. beads or ethnic textiles or African Tribal Art. Phone Cinda 083 284-1818.
